My 2003 KIA Optima smells like it is getting hot and has light smoke that emits from the hood. All fliuds are ok and temp guage reads ok. Some kind of metal getting hot? Transmission or CV joints?

Could it be there is an oil leak and the oil smells and is smoking? Check the valve cover to make sure the gasket isn't leaking. I would say that is the most common cause.
