1992 Jeep YJ Wont start

When i turn the key on the engine turns over but acts like its not getting any gas. When i push the gas peddle in while cranking the engine, it comes comes on like its geting fire but stops. HELP

Check the fuel pressure if okay -check for ignition spark

that was a short awnser but yeah try changing your spark plugs wires cap those are part of routine maintnance anyway if that doesnt work check your fuel filter and your fuel pump if i remember right a 92 jeep is fuel injected so you may want to inspect the injectors as well

Checking the fuel pressure will tell you something about the fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump to include the injector/s. If all are doing its job its time to check the ignition system for spark.

What exactly did you meant by this:

( it comes comes on like its geting fire but stops ) it sounds like it starts and then stalls.

After all the checking of the obvious, I found two causes for my YJ not starting The short rubber flex hose connecting the fuel pump inside the tank between the pump and pickup output tube had deteriorated turning gummy. Change the hose and filter and now have good fuel pressure at the schrader valve on the fuel rail. The next was a stupid on my part... the Anti Theft little flat plug at the bottom of the dash was corroded!!! I hate that little gizmo. It's a great rig so take your time and keep Jeepin' !!
