Engine Performance problem
1987 Jeep YJ 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual 135k miles

i have an 86 cj7 but i put an 87 yj motor in it.the problem is i dont have the power that i should,and if i just press the gas to to the floor it will just die .but if i tap the gas first it wont die ,but the jeep runs great other then that any suggestions thanks,jason o yea i have the 258 six in it thanks

I would start with a fuel pressure test. If pressure checks out good, run an ohmmeter test on the throttle position sensor to make sure it's smooth moving through it's range.
