Engine Performance problem
1987 Jeep YJ 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual 135k miles

i have an 86 cj7 but I put an 87 yj motor in it. The problem is I dont have the power that I should, and if I just press the gas to to the floor it will just die. But if I tap the gas first it wont die, but the jeep runs great other then that any suggestions thanks, jason o yea I have the 258 six in it thanks

I would start with a fuel pressure test. If pressure checks out good, run an ohmmeter test on the throttle position sensor to make sure it's smooth moving through it's range.
