2004 Jeep Wrangler Transfer Case

I just purchased this jeep and notice that when it is not in 4X4 the front drive shaft rotates when moving. My F250 does not unless in 4X4.

Does the transfer case on jeeps suppose to desingage the front drive shaft when not in 4X4 or do I have a problem to resolve?
