Electrical problem
1997 Jeep Wrangler 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

When the turn signal or the wiper is used the radio cuts out. It dosen't happen with the flashers. I took the switches out of the column but they appear OK. This just started happening. Radio works OK when just sitting or driving as long as the wipers or signals aren't used. Any thoughts?

Check at fuse 12 for abnormal voltage and current when the wipers or the turn signal is activated. My guess is that the voltage will drop below the required amount for the unit to operate.

Thanks. We finaly pulled the radio out and checked all the voltages at the connectors. Could not get any lower voltages than 13.5. It would drop from13.65 to 13.5 when the signals were working. We installed a new radio and have no problems. Must been something in the power supply of the factory radio. Thanks again.
