1995 Jeep Wrangler Won't shift into any gears

I just bought a 95 YJ and was told that the clutch was out. I started it up today to see what it did exactly and I can move the shifter into gear but when I release the clutch, nothing happens. I am trying to make sure this is a clutch problem before I start tearing it apart. Any advice would be appreciated. If there is anything else I can do to troubleshoot the problem, let me know. Thank you.

Hi there,

it could well be a failed clutch, but regardless, the box will have to be removed any way. So I would remover the box and inspect the clutch, I would be fitting a full kit regardless. If there is a problem it will be in the clutch plate, if it looks all ok, start looking at the gear box.
