I removed all lifters to clean them after some water deposits caused some minor rust on them. I tooked the lifters apart and removed all rust with gasoline. I forgot to mark each lifters as I took them off the engine. So. They are clean now. But I don't know where each lifter goes where as I mixed them up. Do I need to buy new lifters now? If, so do I have to buy a new cam as well?

You dont know where intake, exhaust valves go or you know that you just dont know where each exhaust valve came from.

The valves are on the head. I had it rebuilt. So I am good on the exhaust and intake valves. I am talking about the lifters. I removed them from inside the block to clean them. But I did not keep them in order for re-installation.

Wow, misread that one!

If they are not too worn then they can be put back in any hole, but if they are badly worn then you would have to replace the whole set. And no you do not have to buy a new cam!
