My husband drives a 2006 Jeep Wrangler-Unlimited-last year they made a straight 6 in this model. The problem is when filling the gas tank, the pump does not shut off when the tank is full. Therefore, spewing out gas all over the place! What could cause this to happen? Is there a sensor in the gas can that could be bad?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Rose Warneford

Do you use the same gasstation all the time or is this at randum stations but sometimes the gas comes out so fast that when it does shut off it does spash some out but if the pump just doesn't shut off iti is the pump nozzle there is nothing wrong with your jeep it is the gas pump

This happens at all gas stations. That's why I was wondering if something is wrong with the gas tank.
