We have the grand cherokee, high performance 8 cylinder. When we trun left, at low speeds, we sometimes here a prononuced thumping nose, or even a loud rubbing type noise. We are not feeling a vibration, and it does not occur at higher speeds. We have been told it is the agreesive steering system but it does not do this on right turns. We think it comes from the front of the vehicle, but are not certain of this, either.

Ok I do need to know if it is from the front or rear to the best of what you can tell. I also need to know what kind of Jeep it is so I can look at the suspension set up to see what might make noise. See my Grand Cherokee made a noise over bumps and when turning that sounded like it was coming from the middle to rear to find out it was the rear upper control arm ball joint. Now this suspensoin set up that I have is not on the regular cherokee or the wrangler so if you would get back to me with the needed info and I will see what I can do to help.
