Recently I have noticed my oil pressure guage is pegge d all the way to high. After continuous driving of a few hours the guage will drop back to about the 75-80 % range. Is trouble in the near future. I am on a trip of 400 miles from home. Need I worry?
Appreciate your earliest answere if possible

Sounds like the oil pressure switch is acting up-to confirm it check the oil pressure-if normal replace the switch

What model is this-Cherokee or Wrangler? So I can provide the pressure switch location
