1995 Other Jeep Models Poor gas mileage, shakes and wobbles

I have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Over the last week I have been getting very poor gas milage, about 125 miles to the tank(half of my normal mileage) While driving, I will get a voilent shake in the engine that lasts about 5-10 seconds, then goes away. When I come to a stop, it gives a little shake and feels like it wants to die but it keeps on running until I take off again. Any thoughts?

Depending on your fuel system, the engine be overfueling, or you are in need of a tune up. Have the vehicle put on a scanner, and it will give you the condition of plugs, wires and other ignition parts.
