I recently purchased a used 2002 Jeep Liberty with 70000 miles. The check engine light came on. I took it to my local mechanic and he ran a diagnostic on it. He said it didn't give him any codes for what was wrong, and reset the OBDII so that the light went off. I drove it for 2 days, putting approximately 85 miles on it, and now the light is back on. Does anyone know why? (And no, the gas cap is not loose, like the manual says it could be). Thanks.

Have your mechanic catch the light on the act-then comeback with the code/s.
