2002 Jeep Liberty Won't stay started once you let off the g

If you turn the key, the jeep will most times start but you have to keep your foot on the gas because the moment you let up, it dies. If you can keep it started long enough to get it into neutral, then reverse, then neutral, than drive, it becomes driveable but seems to chug sometimes pretty badly. We have replaced the air filter, ran Lucas brand fuel injector cleaner through an entire tank of gas and it is still not wanting to start. Any idea what could be the problem?
