My check engine light came on a while back when I first purchased this vehicle. The mechanic said that it was a faulty sensor and replaced it. It has not come on again until just a few days ago. Now, it drops RPM's and when it down shifts, it shifts hard and makes the whole vehicle jerk. I have changed the oil recently and it is due for a tune-up. Do you think that a tune up will fix it or do I need to take it back to the dealership for them to look at? It has a 2 yr bumper to bumper warrenty. Thank you so much!

What I would do is check with you local parts stores and see if any do a free scan. If so then scan it and get the P codes and don't have them clear it ok. Get back to me with the codes once we see the codes then we can see if a simple tune up will help or if the code tells us it is something that might be under warranty.
