Hi there-

I am experiencing a rear end whirlling sound coming from my 1998 Grand Cherokee Laredo. It has low miles.

Has been checked by a mechanic. All bearings are good. Brakes are good. Bearings are good on inspection? Differential fluid looks like it is synthetic inside?

Parking brake is bad and lever inside has to lea way. Just go's to the top with no give?

Any help or thoughts are appreciated?

I have read that LS fluid is needed and it looks like it has that.

Hello and thanks for donating

Since your bearings and brakes have been inspected and found to be in good condition as well as the fluids, it would seem as though the noise is from your parking brake. This is fairly common for these Jeeps. There is a small set of park brake shoes located inside the rear rotor, they tend to corrode and cause this issue.
