I have a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 197,000 miles. It is leaking fluid out near one of the rear wheels and also out of the bottom of the rear differential. I am thinking that it is differential fluid that is leaking out near the wheel since it's coming out of the differential itself also. Is this correct? Also I would like to know what all is involved in fixing a differential fluid leak near the hub like that? I am pretty sure the differential itself would be easy enough but not sure what I'm dealing with in regards to the leak near the wheel. Thanks for your help

Hi there,

you will have to make sure that this is not brake fluid leaking first, if it is diff oil you will have to remove the axle and replace the bearing and seal.
