I have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 5.2L V8. It recently started using a lot of coolant but I can't see any leaks on the ground or in the engine compartment. In the last two days the gas mileage has dropped almost by half. Any ideas???

Have a compression check done on the engine and cooling system. Check the motor oil to see if there is any antifreeze in it. Since you can not find any leaks It sounds like a blown head gasket. When you take out the plugs examine them see if they are clogged. When it is running is there any white smoke comming from the exhaust?

Recently there has been white smoke for about 5-7 minutes after starting.
