Ok the truck runs fine all the way up to about 35mph but when you get to 45 and above it misses real bad and also when you slow down quickly it likes to miss. The sparkplugs are new but im not sure about the wires and im going to change the distributer cap and rotor, and fuel filter soon. Also I have to pump the gas when I start it and sometimes it stalls. Im hoping it will stop when I do that but would appreciate a more educated input.

thank you

Check for a vacuum leak for 1. Take some choke cleaner while at an idle and spray against the intake manifold, bottom of carb, etc. If the idle picks up then you have a leak there and needs to be fixed. Then if you can reach it and look, look at the reluctor in the distributor- that's the thing with the points. And look for cracks as well as seeing if there is alot of wobble in the distributor shaft. Then on your carburetor, check to see if the choke plate is closing all the way when cold. If not the choke either has to be adjusted or is not working. It should open slightly when started and as engine heats up it should open all the way
