I have a new engine in my jeep with a new carb. My problem is, when I drive anywhere around town or freeway my jeep sputters every other second. My rpm gage flutters as well when these contractions occur. I have new spark plugs and replaced my EGR valve. I have run out of ideas of whats going on. Could it be my switch on the carb?

Know stock CJs well, some other add-ons too.

NOT paid mechanic and got here months ago, asking a complicated question myself.

What carb are we running?......Adjusted right? Choke?....May need jet change,

Factory 051s too lean for mine, running 053s presently (presently fine tuning my carb for economy, have good literature)

Fuel filter---crimped lines?...Vacuum lines connected to right locations?

Jeeps really only needs a few VAC lines to the right locations, to run well

Plug wires right locations?....Timing set correctly?........Are you competent in making correct adjustments?.......Have tools and basic meters?......Repair BOOK? Which One?

May can reference pages and procedures you can understand, using my literature.......Let me know your level of comprehension

I, TOO was once at LEVEL ZERO, constantly working toward LEVEL 100, I will never arrive there.

Will HELP YOU as much and however long it may take......lots of experience.....LOTS of REPAIR BOOKS.....only owned CJs......NEVER A CAR....since 1981.

The only reason a CJ hood should be up is to show it off to jealous other people.

Love Turddog
