Hello!

I've got a 2001 jeep grand Cherokee with 80000 miles on it. I have a dump question. My oil pressure gauge shows some fluctuation between 40 and 60 (depending on driving condition like driving in highway or city). Fluctuation is not rapid it just changes smoothly. Shouldn't it be constant all the time?

Not a stupid question. What you see is normal. As the engine RPM's slow down (from highway speed to slower speeds) the oil pump slows too. As a result, the pressure drops a little. If 40psi is the lowest it goes, you have great oil pressure.

Let me know if you have other questions.
