A short time ago oil pressure was nil. Had oil pump and sender replaced. Oil pressure increased but drops to almost 0 when stopping at red light. Had oil changed and upgraded to 10W40. It definitely helped but still drops to almost 0 SOMETIMES when idling and check engine light comes on. I would love to get some more life out of my baby. What do I need to do?

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on.

Otherwise, check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge,if normal replace the oil pressure switch. If abnormal could mean oil pump and/or engine bearing.
