This jeep will not start without a jump. When finally started the volt meter jumps to 19 volts. The battery was low on water. Filled it still have same problem

19 volts is too much-its overcharging the battery

Get the voltage regulator tested-its not controlling the field windings-therefore causing it to overcharge the battery and low on electrolyde-You might be needing another battery

Rasmataz is wright but the voltage regulator is built into the altenator so you will have to have the alenator checked and replace it 19 volts is to much it should be putting out no more then 14 volts
