2000 Jeep Cherokee Two Wheel Drive Automatic 213000 miles

i have a jeep cherokee and I thought it was out of gas because the gas gauge did not register.
It does not star tI put a gallon of gas in it and it does not register and do not start

Welcome to the site, are you saying it cranks good but won't start? If so, have a helper crank it, while you check for spark at the plugs, if you have spark everywhere, use a gage and check fuel pressure.

For the instrument cluster, check fuse 9--10 amp in the junction block, use a testlite, that circuit goes hot when you turn on the key. Also check fuse 16--15 amp in the power distribution center, that circuit is hot all the time.
