My 4L 6cyl '99 Jeep Cherokee seems to be having electrical issues. Recently when I'm driving the indicator light will stop blinking after a few clicks, sometimes it will not blink at all. Other times it works perfectly. I also find that the battery voltage meter will sometimes cycle and read out low voltage causing the dashboard to dim and the Heater to not blow air as hot. I changed the battery thinking that had something to do with the indicators at least, but have had no luck. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

First, if the gauge is droping and then going back to normal, my first guess is the alternator is bad or going bad. What you need to do is take the car to a nationally recognized parts store and have them check the alt output. Most will do it for free. Do that and let me know what you find. As far as the flashers, see if the alt is bad. If it is, replace it and see if that takes care of the flashers. If it doesn't, then chances are the flasher itself is bad. It is a cheap part and easy to replace.

Let me know what you find.
