Engine Cooling problem
1998 Jeep Cherokee V8 All Wheel Drive Automatic 175k miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I’m a single mom, and broke. I am trying to diagnose what’s wrong w/my radiator. I was driving, "check gages went on, and temp gage flew up immediately into the red. Stopped, let engine cool, added more coolant. let it run, didn’t see a leak until I backed up a few inches and then noticed the leak coming from the under carriage on the front passenger side. shut off the car, and it stopped... Do you think it’s the actual radiator? or the coolant reserve tank or the water pump/hoses? Should I even bother? The jeep GC is a 1998 and has almost 200k. PLEASE HELP! Dunno how I’m going to deal with this!

Did you open the hood to see if you can tell were exactly the leak is coming from. If the vehicle has a brush pan the leak could be somewere else and just running down the pan to were you see it. So pop the hood refill radiator, start the vehicle and look for leak.
