I recently replaced the battery and starter/selonoid, on my '97 Grand Cherokee, because it would not turn over. A few months later it would not turn over again, totally dead not even a click. I returned the starter thinking it was defective, installed the replacement and all was well. Yesterday, three weeks after installing the replacement starter, it would not turn over. I removed the starter, spun it with jumper cables, reinstalled it and the car started. I know something else is wrong, but don't know what to check next.

Won't start in neutral. I know these Jeeps won't start if the shifter is not pushed firmly into park, but attempting to start in neutral didn't work.

I had starting problems with my Jeep recently, where it would click and not turn over. I took my battery in to be tested and it was good. When I removed the terminals I noticed quite a bit of corrosion. I replaced the terminals with new ones and used 220 grit sand paper on the posts, lightly to reveal fresh metal. So far, so good. Been two weeks and she fires right up every time!
