I have a 96 cherokee 4.0. It starts and then stalls as I am driveing, I used my scan tool obd2 and got code P0340 camshaft position sensor A circuit (bank 1 or single sensor) I changed the distributer pick up or stator and now it will not start at all! The past 4 weeks I have replaced the battery both oxy sensors crank sensor. After replacing the part do you erase the codes? Please help rob

Did you check the sensor electrical circuits/connector. Violet wire with white tracer is ref voltage around 5 volts, key on. Use digital multimeter. The black wire with lite blue tracer is ground. To check any ground going to the computer, even constant ground, I use an led with resistor. The ref voltage and ground are shared circuits, shared by several other circuits.

Yes, erase the codes, or unplugging the negative battery cable usually take care of it. Unplug it for about fifteen minutes
