I am getting following SMOG fail numbers:

NO (PPM)

Speed Max Ave Meas

15 508 149 618 FAIL

25 761 144 455 PASS

Everything else was pass.

I don't drive this car much at all. 130K mi. Had small amount of gas in tank, sitting there for awhile. Transmission slipping a bit so not driving much. Trying to hold off on major repairs for now.

Any advice?

Thanks!

Best,
D

Thanks, Rasmataz. I guess I'll be locating the EGR valve next. ;-)

Looking for repair manual.

What do you think about the Smog Pass Additives for NOx reduction?

Thanks!

Your engine don't have one just checked it-NOX failures are usually EGR-related, since the EGR system is primarily responsible for reducing oxides of nitrogen. But NOX emissions can also be caused by a bad three-way converter or a computer control system that remains in open loop.

Thanks, ras

going to try BG 44K fuel additive. Heard of it? Supposedly burns out carbon build up.

Checking out other additives. To 'de-carbonize'

otherwise sounds like it could be:

- cat
- threeway converter
- 02 sensor

etc.

Thanks!
