Driving home today my car started to stutter slightly. I pulled into a gas station and put some stp water removal treatment into the tank thinking that maybe the last fill up had some water in it.

After about an hours drive of the slight stuttering
I parked the vehicle and later went to drive it again only to find the stuttering had gotten worse. It had become undrivable.

I took it around the block to see if the problem would clear up since I hadn't allowed much time for the water removal to do its job. Upon taking this short trip I was hit with a Red check engine light.

I just replaced the timing belt and clutch in this vehicle. And at the time the timing seemed fine.

I am at a loss to what it might be other then the fuel pump which is what I thought at first but now I am not so sure.

Any clues to what this might be other then an old car with a lot of miles acting up on me?

Check engine light:

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on
