1993 Jeep Cherokee Alternator or Battery

Hello, My question is my Jeep Cherokee after it has been running and I say stop and get gas shut it off of course it won't start but then after about five minutes it does start back up. Also my air conditioning works but my heater and defroster don't work, what repairs need tobe made and about how much to fix them, approx. of course. Thanks for your help.

When you get gas, do you always fill the tank?

Also, check for vacuum leaks under the dash and hood. The vend door actuators are actuated by vacuum and it isn't uncommon for the hoses to break.
