hi, i have a '93 jeep cherokee, about 203000 miles. i have replaced several things including the engine but have been having a "knock" for the last few months. It's not comming from the motor and we believe it may be the flywheel. the "knocking" (for lack of better term) seems to get louder the more you drive the jeep and is also seems more pronounced between 1500 and 2300 rpm when driving the highway. also sometimes it will not even attempt to crank unless it's in nuetral. have you ever heard of this? just looking for some advice. thanx

If the flywheel was left too loose or the torque converter bolts werent tightened , they could come loose causing your noise. You can check the converter nuts/bolts by removing the inspection cover on the front of the trans. The starting problem sounds like the neutral safety switch on the side of the trans is either going out or needs to be adjusted
