1995 Jaguar XJS Coupe, Last 6 VIN 199356,
6 Cyl 4.0L Engine modified for high performance.

Currently the XJS is experiencing a high-speed speedometer "needle bounce" (at 120 mph the bounce is between 90 mph and 150 mph.) Mechanics suggest replacing the electric speedometers transducer as a first step in correcting the needle bounce. Research, on my part, indicates the transducer is located at the rear of the transmission just ahead of the connection of the drive shaft to the transmission. Where exactly varies (bottom, right side, etc.) If possible, we need instructions to accomplish the transducer replacement. The part is available at my Jaguar dealer.

From what I see in the Mitchell manual, the speed transducer is on the differential cover, and should be easy to replace, clean the area off first then remove and replace...Did I read you right? 120? Watch out for the COPS!
