2000 Jaguar XJ8 DASHBOARD WOOD TRIM

1. I replacing the wood trim bits on my Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas.
2. From the replacement parts I see they are just held into place with a tab and friction grip arrangement.
3. The surround for the gauges and the middle bit (clock vent) prised off quite easily.
4. The passenger side trim (conceals the passenger air bag concerns me. As I prise it off is there any reason to worry about setting the airbag off?

I would not have a concern for an airbag deployment in the removal of a wood trim. When ever work is performed on the supplemental restraint system, the battery MUST first be disconnected, this applies to any airbag or modules related to the supplemental restraint system on any car.
