Jag was running just fine. Set over night and would not start mid day. Fired up for a few seconds then stalled. Would not re-start.

Spark checks out OK, fuel checks out OK.

Mechnics are stumped.

Happy to donate if I get any answers I can use. I have already paid but still waiting for answer.

Once when this happened I was told that if you put oil in the spark plug holes the Jag engine will rebuild compression and start. It worked before but I would like feed back on this.

I have exactly the same issue and have been told its low compression due to the piston rings wearing. This was from a Jag garage who said they could only replace the engine at over £7,000. They also said that I could just put foot on the accelerator when I turn the car over and it works.

It doesn't like cold starts but as the engine warms and metal expands issue goes away
