when i engage my cruise control the engine goes in to safe mode... cant figure out what the problem is..

Yes, you have a vacum leak! it is leaking at the throttle Body. I had the same problem just fixed it last night.
Start your engine and listen for an air leak. If you trace it right, you will notice that you have a hose disconnected
