1996 Jaguar XJ6 Engine dies while driving
Electrical problem
1996 Jaguar XJ6 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 145000 miles
If I am driving in fast traffic or I apply my brakes suddenly, the RPMs drop to 0 and the car dies. I can slip it in N and restart it but normally the transmission light goes on and I will have to pull over turn off the car, restart it to get out of the limp home mode... HELP!!! what is happening to my poor car... It dawned on me this morning that it could be a fuel line problem... the last few months, when I fill up, the preasure in the gas tank when I remove the cap is so great that gas sputters out. Anyone?

does the check engine light show ? .. I would start by replacing the crankshaft position sensor
