I had my Jaguar quit on me while backing out the driveway. I Thought I had ran out of gas and my fuel gauge was not working the way the car just kept cranking with no response of starting.

I checked the tank, had gas, checked fuses they were all good, removed gas line at rail before pressure regulator wasn't getting any gas. Change fuel pump in tank, strainer in tank and fuel filter. Put five gallons of fresh gas in tank and tried to start car. No response, rail would not prime. So I change pressure regulator, still can not get gas from outlet of regulator, thinking the regulator to have a vacuum on it to release fuel I hooked up a hand vacuum pump and pulled 25 psi of vacuum, still would not release any fuel. I have fuel coming from the pump to the inlet of the pressure regulator. When I bypass the regulator the car starts right up, thats why I purchase a new regulator. I'm stuck. Why am I not getting fuel pass the regulator?

Hi gregjag,

There must be something wrong with the pipe connections.

Fuel pressure should be before the pressure regulator and not after.

Fuel pump should prime the fuel rail and regulated by the regulator.

I am not familiar with this model and make so I hope what I answered makes sense.
