I was driving on a highway when my Jaguar just cut out on me. Only the headlights and windows work now. No other accessories will even turn on, and there is no display on the dash, so I am unable to see any warning lights or codes. No activity at all from the engine when trying to start it. Battery is good, alternator is good. Do i need a new ECM/ECU? What else could cause it to just die like that?

I would start by checking a couple things. First, check under the hood for a power distribution box. Inside, I believe there is a main fuse that controls most of the car's electrical system. Make sure the fuses are good and none are bad. Next, make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight and not corroded. Also, check the ground to the engine block and make sure the battery is producing at least 12+ volts. Finally, if everything checks out for you, I would move on to the ignition switch itself.

Let me know what you find.
