cAR RAN LOW ON GAS (JUST STARTING INTO RED AREA)- AND THEN WOULD NOT START UP WITH 5 GAL. COULD MY LOW LEVEL GAS CONTENT POLLUTED MY FUEL FILTER? OR HOW WOULD i TELL IF IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP? (I AM OVERDUE FOR OIL CHANGE)

You could change fuel filters and see what happens. You should be able to hear the fuel pump run, HUMM, when you turn the key to run. Over due oil change will not affect starting or running.
