1986 Jaguar XJ6 fuel return
Engine Mechanical problem
1986 Jaguar XJ6
I have an 86 XJ6 that is returning fuel to one tank only and overflowing. Currently my fuel sending units are not registering at all, but they have not registered before and I did not have this problem then. Thanks for any help, Wayne

check/replace the check valve
Bosch electric fuel pumps are 12-volt, positive displacement roller cell type. Operating pressure is determined by one or more external fuel pressure regulators in the engine compartment. Fuel pumps include an external replaceable discharge check valve, to prevent fuel from returning to the tank when pump is turned off. Some pumps may also incorporate a damper chamber on the outlet, to prevent pulsations in the fuel lines.
