Need some help!

Wife drives the car. The dash showed the yellow exclamation point. Trans seemed to slip. Her description is that the engine rpm went up but the car was very slow to accelerate. It showed code P1111 in my scanner when she got it home.

The one thing that I dislike about this car is that there is no way to check the trans fluid level.

According to my scanner and books, the P1111 is the Intake air temp sensor shorted high. That is the only code in it, and it was not active.

Am I missing something here? My thoughts are running to a mechaical failure in the trans. Fortunately, the car does have an extended warranty on it. I'd just like to know what I'm facing at the dealer.

Thanks

Took the car out for a drive. The trans shifts ok and pulls ok under real light acceleration. Under harder acceleration the 3rd and 4th gears both will slip.

Car is at the dlr under warranty. Getting the trans replaced.

The code was cleared and has not returned.
