Went somewhere and the Jaguar quit running. When I put the key in all the insturment pannel indicators went from 0 all the way up, then back down to 0. (Speed and RPM). Nothing else happened. I didn't drive it most of this winter. I thought it needed a new battery, replaced the battery, now nothing happens at all. I may, for a short period, have hooked up the positive side of the battery before the ground side. When I did this I heard a little noise coming from the black box in the truck located on the left side rear of the trunk. No one wants to work on a Jaguar where I live, and the nearest certified repair shop is over 30 miles away. Would appreciate any help or suggestions you can give me. Thank You, Daniel

Does it even turn over? If it turns but wont start, you will need to check for spark and fuel pressure to see whats missing. If it doesnt turn over at all, use a test light to see if there is any power at the small wire on the sterter with the key in the crank position. If there is power there and it doesnt turn over, the starter is bad.

Thanks for your help. Found the problem. The battery cables were too loose and it needs a new alternator. The old alternator was draining the battery.
