Getting front brake service done. Mechanic is telling me the rotors are disposable and need to be discarded and new ones put on. This has more than doubled the cost I was expecting. He is charging me $240. First, is it true the rotors are disposable? And second, am I being charged a fair price?

thanks for your help. This is my first time using this forum and want to see the results first before I make a donation.

The rotor's are only replaced if they are worn beyond repair .. they do not need to be disposed of and replaced everytime the pads are changed ...

The price of disc's from a dealer (OEM jaguar Part) are $250 each .. you could probaly get these cheaper elsewhere ..

Hope this helps
