What cause the gearbox fault to go on ?

Hi there,
I presume that you are referring to a set fault code light. If this is the case an operational fault has been detected by the ECU and the code light may not be re set untill the fault has beer rectified. You best have the transmission check before it possibly develops into something more serious and expensive.
