2004 Other Jaguar Models Windshield Intermitant

2004 Other Jaguar Models 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 49,000 miles

The intermitant cycle of my Xtype does not work. It has rain sensitive feature. Wipers work when set on run. Anyone else have this problem. Is this just the start of problems now that the car is out of warranty(more than 4 years old)?
