2002 Other Jaguar Models Gear

When shifting from Park into drive my car will not move unless I move into 3rd or the gear. All gears work properly except for drive. It seems as though that gear is stripped if that is even possible

Is your car a s type. If it is sounds like the shifter cable is stretched. Nessesary to replace the shifter calble and have it adjusted. This should take care of problem. Hope it helps. Let me know
