I have a broken antenna, and I had to disconnect the wire to the antenna to keep it from going up. After trying one plug that didnt shut the antenna down, I plugged it back in and found the right one. The 1st plug I secured properly when I found out it was the wrong one, but after trying to put the top down, the back windows would go down but the top did nothing. Is there something I should do if I interupted something? It is a Xk8 convertable, 2002.
Thanks,
Matt

Hi jaguar dealer technician first thing I would do is look at the convertable top resevoir right next to the antenna clear bottle with green fluid in it see if it ireads full, if it is I would have someone hit the convertable top button while you listen to hear if that pump runs, if it does not run its disconnected or I would check power to pump, also there are micro switches in latch area you would have to look at, if the fluid is low in resevoir you have a leak thats why top is not going down go to were your map lights are pull map cover down and see if you have green fluiid leaking onto map light area, lines leak at latch area, there are two solutions to fixing that there is a complete line set and a small kit to depending were your leak is at it is a expensive repair also check top relays at trunk fuse box there is a up and down relay for top small black relays

Hi one more thing your conv top might be just stuck in a mode next to conv top pump you will see a allan key on a bracket, remove key ho to r side on car inside next to sunvisor you will see a plug in headliner remove plug inset allan key turnanti clock wise this will losen conv top latch once lose go back to conv top pump you will see a knob on pump turn anti clock wise all the way out now go to side of conv top outside past quarter windows feel with your hand on top you will feel a ram just past quarter window you have to push ram in till you feel in collapse on both sides do this then you can have some one on either sides pull top back towards trunk, then pull top buck towards latch lock latch with allan ket, losen latch and pull top back again towards trunk you might have to do this a few times, once you ve done it a few times latch down latch with allen key, turn in knob on conv top pump and try top and it should work if you have no leaks sometimes conv top gets confused, the hardest part is pushing in the rams on the sides look in your owners manuel it might tell you how to do this procedure
