Thank you for taking my question.

Background: the coolant since 1998 was never changed. I never needed to add coolant because there were never any leaks. The coolant always maintained its natural green color. I never had problems with heat in the winter.

Recently I took my truck to a dealership to have the timing-chain and water-pump replaced. The mechanic suggested replacing the water-pump the same time. Coincidently, two-days prior to the appointment the truck overheated. The coolant reservoir pressurized and the top blew off making a loud noise. At that time, the trouble pointed to the water-pump. The mechanic changed both parts as planned, however, he did not trouble-shoot the overheating problem. Since then, I have experienced major issues with the coolant either evaporating or running low. I am refilling the coolant every 50 – 75 miles.

I took the truck back to the mechanic and he replaced the thermostat and radiator cap (More money), and the problem still exist. There is no evidence of any leaks on the ground or anywhere on the engine. The reservoir does not hold even the minimum level of fluid.

Can you tell what the problem may be?

Thank you in advance for your comments and feedback.
