timing belt marks?

1994 Isuzu Rodeo Question 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

i recently did some repairs on my truck and the people that helped me threw it out of timing. how do i get it set right?

timing belt

Won't start after timing belt replacement-go back in and check the valve timing-meaning the position of the cam and crankshaft when engine no. 1 piston at compression stroke/TDC before you set the belt on- LOOK BELOW FOR THE DIAGRAM

Well when you set the 3.2L v-6 timing belt on the correct timing points outlined by the book #2 piston is at tdc can you explain this! so how can it be #1 tdc every time I line up the crank sprockets cutout with the line on the oil pump, # 2 piston is at tdc I'm confussed any clarification would be appreciated
