My 2000 Isuzu Trooper just has an idiot warning light for the oil pressure so I want to install a gauge. The instructions that came with the Auto Meter brand electric oil pressure gauge I purchased warns that on some models of vehicles the removal of the OEM sending unit could effect other engine control functions. It does not say which models though. Does anyone out there know if it is ok to install the sending unit that came with my aftermarket Auto Meter oil pressure gauge on a 2000 Trooper without it causing issues with other engine controls? Thanks.

I believe it will since the my scanner reads the oil pressure apparently the ecm is monitoring that.
You could just install a Y or T connection into the hole that the oil pressure sending unit screwed into then put the sending unit in one side of the Y or T and the manual oil pressure hose connection into the other.
